What’s up with the Japanese restaurants replacing Mamma?

There’s news on the Japanese restaurants filling the former Mamma space at 226 F St.

As I’ve reported, the Sacramento area restaurant group Fukumi will operate two separate restaurants there: Pier 50 Sushi and Fukumi Chaya x Momo Katsu. Pier 50 Sushi will fill the Third Street side and offer made-to-order, all-you-can-eat sushi. Fukumi Chaya x Momo Katsu, a ramen and katsu restaurant, will be based out of the F Street portion of the building.

Now, I have news on the hopeful timing of the openings, and whether the patio plays a part.
