After some 50 years in Davis, today is Ding How’s last day. As I wrote in December, it’s the oldest Chinese food restaurant in town.
“For half a century, we have been honored to grow up with the Davis community and share so many unforgettable moments,” Kay Zhu wrote on Nextdoor.
It’s at 640 W. Covell Blvd., in Anderson Plaza, and is typically open from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturdays.

It’s open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays, and noon to 4:30 p.m. on Saturdays until the UC Davis students return in mid-September. Sam’s is at 301 B St. in downtown Davis. Regular hours are typically till 7:30, including on Saturdays.
