Brixmor Property Group has announced the grand opening of The Davis Collection.

According to a news release, the event, “The Davis Collection Unwrapped,” will be a community celebration on Wednesday, Sept. 10, from 3 to 5 p.m. at 835-885 Russell Blvd. in Davis. The mall replaced the former University Mall.

“This family-friendly celebration is an opportunity for the community to experience everything The Davis Collection has to offer,” the news release said. The event will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony featuring remarks by Gregory Finley, president of the west region for Brixmor, and Davis Vice Mayor Donna Neville. There will also be live music by local acoustic blues band Chicken & Dumpling, tastings, store promotions, Kona Ice shaved ice, face painting and other activities. The first 100 guests will receive a free commemorative bag.
