[Corrected] Thai dessert coming, whiskey business opening
Plus, news on Tim’s Hawaiian BBQ, Village Bakery, Planet Fitness, Pleasant Pheasant bookstore, Tequileros Taqueria and Woodland Gold & Silver
Correction: Apologies for releasing incorrect information about the Davis Xfinity store in yesterday’s column. It is not closing. I confirmed that it was still open but failed to remove the item from my column.

A new Thai restaurant specializing in Asian desserts is on its way to downtown Davis. NaYa Dessert Cafe will fill the former Farmers Kitchen space at 620 Fourth St.
On its city building permit, the owner is listed as the Wanner family, with a Lincoln address. Its website lists two locations in San Francisco: in the Hayes Valley and Inner Richmond areas.
Desserts listed at their other locations include bingsu, a milk-based Korean shaved ice dessert with sweet toppings. There’s also crepes and crepe cakes, lava cakes, bua loi, (sweet, toasted sesame dumplings), fried roti topped with ice cream and other toppings, brick toasts with various toppings, and ice cream made with Thai or green tea, or coconut.
But it’s more than dessert. There are Thai noodle, rice and stir-fry dishes, a salad, and appetizers like fried fish balls and fried squid. To drink, there are hot and cold teas and sodas, including Thai tea and matcha lattes. I haven’t confirmed what it will serve in Davis.
