Construction begins on Tulē urban wellness retreat
Plus: Updates on Orangetheory Fitness, Planet Fitness, Vault Board Shop, the new Chipotle and Good Friends Poke

Interior demolition is underway inside the former All Things Right & Relevant site in Davis. Tulē will be an urban wellness retreat with thermal spa, pools, sauna, steam room and massage, along with a fitness center and movement clinic.
The movement clinic already exists in Davis. Miles Gorder operates Milestones Movement Therapy at 1801 Hanover Drive, Suite D. When Tulē is complete – as soon as this summer – Milestones will move to the 9,712-square-foot Tulē spot, at 2801 Spafford St., and expand its services.
Gorder’s dreamt about this wellness retreat for a decade, visiting bathhouses and other wellness centers around the world – and taking notes.
Demolition began on Wednesday. Gorder said he doesn’t have an estimated completion date from Monley Hamlin Construction but he’s guessing July or August.
Tulē will have multiple components:
A wellness and recovery area with a hot soaking pool (104 degrees), cold-plunge pool (50 degrees), and a neutral pool set between 75 and 90 degrees, depending on the time of year. There are also plans for a dry sauna, steam room, and Swedish and sports-style therapeutic massage. And he plans to offer access to recovery-technology systems like Normatec, Hypervolt percussion massage and red light treatments.
A fitness gym and longevity testing is another aspect. About 3,000 square feet of the space will be dedicated to a premium gym with strength, cardio and functional exercise equipment. It will offer Dual-Energy X-ray Absorptiometry scans to assess body muscle, fat and bone density, and cardiovascular assessment including V02 max, and resting metabolic rate testing. There will also be gait analysis of running and walking, coaching programs based on biometric testing results, and personal training. “We will welcome both those who would like to just do their biometric testing with us but work out elsewhere, as well as those who want an integrated approach of biometric tracking and exercise programming,” Gorder said.
A new home for Milestones Movement Therapy, with expanded services. It offers “an individualized approach to working with pain and injuries,” movement assessment and corrective exercise programming, and therapeutic, medical and sports massage. There’s deep tissue laser therapy and shockwave therapy too.
The final piece is the community aspect, where it will offer coffee, tea, a juice bar and pre-prepared healthy bites in a members’ lounge. He plans to hold wellness seminars and community events, “and partner with other wellness businesses to bring in things like IV therapy and other wellness modalities.” He said the lounge will be a “perfect (place) to relax before an appointment, read a book, enjoy a drink (or) meet a friend.” The space will be available to rent for events.
Tule has a website, here. Those interested may sign up for a newsletter and get on a waitlist for the gym memberships. It also has an active Instagram account for those who want to follow its progress.
All Things Right & Relevant, a nonprofit consignment and thrift store that benefited Yolo County mental health charities, closed in March 2024.
