Another salad place that I believe would be a great addition to Davis: MIXT. You can actually make your own salad!

There's always the 28-item old-school salad bar at Steve's Pizza.

Yeah. That was our cafeteria when I worked at The Enterprise. Cottage cheese and canned beets, etc. It’s fine but not the same level as what I’m talking about.

Ha. Yeah, I get it. Wait... I forgot Jacks Urban Eats (?)

Yep. Oversight on my part. It's better but not quite as many choices.

Any word on when they are going to begin work on the Chipotle in South Davis? I haven't heard any news since it was approved (maybe I missed it).

Not that I know of. It doesn’t look like there’s been any activity there yet.

Tell me about it. I drive by it all the time hoping to see some progress. Just like the old Carl's Jr in North Davis.

Jack’s Urban Eats has make your own salads, and it’s locally owned. I’m not enamored of another national restaurant chain in Davis.

Yes. Not as many choices for toppings as the places I mentioned but a good reminder. It’s the concept I like. Easy to replicate locally.

"impact of tariffs on local businesses" - my bike shop, like many others will need to increase the price of bikes and accessories at least 20% due to tariffs. Feel free to reach out for more detailed info.

Thank you for sharing about Jenny, I didn't see her often, but she was always a joy to share any experience with. Just another thought, we go to Jack's where you can make a salad, not a huge selection, but it is usually not too busy.

Thanks, Jane. Several readers have mentioned Jack’s. It’s the best option in town at the moment.

So sorry to hear about both your friend and your mom. Cancer sucks! But I do like the idea of a salad bowl place here. Hope it happens!

Wendy, so very sad about Jenny Decker; I know her a little bit from attending the same church. I am sorry to hear about your Mom. It is a very brutal disease. We lost a friend to it a couple and years ago and he was only 60.

Jenny Decker leaves a Jenny Decker hole in our lives. Smart, enthusiastic and welcoming. It didn't matter if you had seen her a week ago or a year, you always picked up where you left off. We are richer for having her in our lives.
