Happy anniversary to Bob and you, thanks so much for not giving up on feeding our community's soul and heart, and for turning adverse circumstances into something so positive!
Happy Anniversary! (Do we need to subscribe again or will we be renewed automatically?) It is great that you two did not "retire" and disappear. I love reading your columns and feeling informed.
Your column was the only reason I subscribed to the Enterprise! I'm happy to support you financially; I get a helluva lot more enjoyment out of your substack posts than I ever did wading through their fluff and dreck, hunting for your byline.
The timing of the Enterprise mistreatment of Bob and Substack as a place to land was fortuitous. However, it is sad that local newspapers are going the way of the dinosaur.
I grieve the loss of hometown news. I loved reading the Enterprise back in the day, when flipping the page meant moving from events to columnists to local sports to want ads. I loved the fact that young writers got to publish their work. It made our community a community. While I no longer subscribe to(substack is now my go-to), I hate the fact that everything is atomized, separate. Obviously, the owners didn't appreciate Davis If they had they would never have blown up the paper the way they did.
Wendy, local journalists like you and Bob ("like" is merely a figure of speech, because there are no others quite like you two) are one of the forces that hold our communities together. And yes, it is communities, plural, because the stories you tell are important for all of us across Yolo County. Happy anniversary!! May you carry on for many years to come!
Thanks, Wendi, for your kind comments about your readers. We love what you do and look forward to the future when you enlighten us to new businesses in town and those that didn't quite make the grade. It's how we work together that makes a community work. Keep it up. <3
I’m glad we have connection, a connection to our shared community. I love your news about what’s going on in our town and nearby towns. I look forward to reading your news as it appears in my inbox. ❤️
Happy anniversary, and thanks for the columns. Keep up the excellent work. The breadth of your writing and the depth that you go into it have improved and made your coverage even more interesting. Wishing you many more successes.
Both you and Bob are treasures. Don't go away; we need you!

It should notify you that it's renewing but it should do so automatically.
This is so darn wonderful, and exciting. It is such a relief to have something quite bad turn into something so great. Yahoo!
Thanks, Gayna! We feel lucky.

When I’m supported, I can give it more time! It’s great!
Davis just wouldn’t be Davis without Wendi Weitzel and Bob Dunning!
Thanks, Diane! You are very kind.
